Turkey Threatens to Attack Israel if US-Iran Peace Talks Fail: Erdogan Calls Netanyahu ‘Hitler of Our Time’

The Middle East is on the edge of a full-scale explosion. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has threatened to attack Israel, accusing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of being “blinded by blood and hatred. These remarks came after the collapse of high-stakes US-Iran talks held in Pakistan following 21 hours of negotiations. As the world watches nervously, Turkey’s bold warnings are raising serious questions about what comes next for the region.

What Did Erdogan Actually Say?

Erdogan did not hold back. Speaking at a political event on Saturday, he said, “Had Pakistan not been mediating in the war between the US and Iran, we would have shown Israel its place.” He added, “Just as we entered Libya and Karabakh, we can enter Israel. There is nothing to prevent us from doing it.”

Erdogan also condemned Israel for forcing 1.2 million Lebanese out of their homes due to attacks on civilian settlements, despite both Israel and the United States rejecting claims that Lebanon was included in the ceasefire with Iran.

He described Israeli military actions as “barbaric” and said Turkey must be strong enough to stop Israel from doing to Palestine what it has done elsewhere.

Turkey Calls Netanyahu ‘Hitler of Our Time’

The sharpest blow came from Turkey’s Foreign Ministry.

Ankara stated: “Netanyahu, who has been described as the Hitler of our time due to the crimes he has committed, is a well-known figure with a clear track record.”

The ministry pointed to the International Criminal Court arrest warrant against Netanyahu over allegations of war crimes and crimes against humanity. It also noted that Israel, under his leadership, is facing proceedings at the International Court of Justice over genocide accusations.

Turkey’s Foreign Ministry further alleged that Netanyahu’s real goal was to:

  • Derail the fragile US-Iran peace process
  • Expand Israeli territorial influence in the region
  • Avoid legal accountability at home and abroad

The ministry warned that Netanyahu’s aim was to disrupt peace efforts and advance “expansionist policies,” adding he could face prosecution in Israel and possible imprisonment.

Why Did US-Iran Peace Talks Collapse?

The timing of Erdogan’s outburst is directly connected to the failure of diplomatic talks in Islamabad.

US-Iran peace talks in Pakistan ended without an agreement after 21 hours of negotiations. Following the collapse, US President Donald Trump ordered the Navy to begin a blockade to stop ships from entering or leaving the Strait of Hormuz.

The United States offered what officials described as a “final and best offer” to Tehran. US Vice President JD Vance said the proposal represented Washington’s last attempt at reaching an understanding, with Trump directly involved throughout the negotiations. However, Iran indicated it was in no hurry to move forward.

Turkey had been closely watching these talks. Erdogan’s threat to Israel was a clear signal: if diplomacy fails, Ankara may not stay on the sidelines.

How Did Israel Respond?

Israel’s reaction was swift and equally aggressive.

Netanyahu fired back, saying Israel would continue to fight Iran’s “terror regime” and its regional proxies, “unlike Erdogan who accommodates them and massacres his own Kurdish citizens.”

Israeli ministers went even further:

  • Defense Minister Israel Katz accused Turkey of antisemitism and labelled the legal proceedings against Israeli officials as “sham trials”
  • National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir posted a profane message on X directed at the Turkish president
  • Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu branded Erdogan a “megalomaniacal dictator” with “imperialist ambitions” who acts like an “Ottoman Sultan while being no more than a pathetic tyrant of a country with a collapsing economy”

Eliyahu also proposed completely severing all diplomatic relations between Israel and Turkey.

Turkish Court Indicts Netanyahu and 35 Israeli Officials

This war of words did not come out of nowhere. It followed a major legal move by Turkey.

A Turkish court indicted Netanyahu and 35 other Israeli officials, including Defense Minister Israel Katz and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, for their role in the naval interception of the October 2025 “Sumud” Gaza flotilla.

Turkish prosecutors are seeking a total of more than 4,500 years in prison. The officials were charged with crimes against humanity, genocide, torture, and unlawful deprivation of liberty, according to the state-run Anadolu Agency.

The flotilla incident, which also involved activist Greta Thunberg among those detained, has become a major flashpoint in Turkey-Israel relations.

Pakistan’s Role in the Crisis

Pakistan has emerged as a key player in this unfolding drama.

Turkey’s ruling AK Party spokesperson Ömer Çelik said one of the goals behind the attacks on Erdogan was to “sabotage the critical peace talks in Pakistan to end the US-Israel-Iran war.”

Erdogan himself credited Pakistan’s mediation efforts as the only thing preventing Turkey from already acting against Israel. Pakistan’s diplomatic position , neutral but active , has placed it at the center of a conflict that involves NATO, the Middle East, and global oil supply routes.

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin also stepped in after the Islamabad talks collapsed, saying Russia was “ready to mediate” and strongly condemning US and Israeli strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

  • Will diplomatic ties break? Israeli ministers are pushing to cut relations with Turkey entirely
  • What is Pakistan’s next move? Islamabad has called on both the US and Iran to uphold the ceasefire

Israeli strikes have continued targeting densely populated areas in central Beirut, with one attack reportedly killing at least 300 people and injuring over 1,000, raising serious concerns about whether the ceasefire can hold.
